Nestled in unincorporated Carnation, Lake Marcel is a private reservoir with a community that cherishes its natural surroundings. The lake has been known to support beavers, eagles and many other species and is managed by the Lake Marcel Community Club. Kayaking and paddleboarding are popular, as are fishing and boating from the resident-only parks. The community has a population of around 1,381 residents.
